Bio

     Paxton is in his first season as the head coach of the RedStorm.
     A native of Clendenin, W.Va., Paxton is a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School and Ohio University. He also earned a Master's Degree from the University of Rio Grande in 2009.
     Paxton returns to Rio Grande from Unioto High School in Chillicothe, Ohio, where he'd been the head track & field/cross country coach since 2001. While at Unioto, Paxton accrued a litany of coaching accomplishments including the Fred Dafler Ohio State Coach of the Year for Ohio Boys Cross Country in 2019, as well as 22 Southeast District Coach of the Year awards.
     His decorated resume also includes 50 league championships, 20 district title and nine regional crowns, while also coaching five OHSAA indoor track and field champions, three OHSAA outdoor track and field champions and the discus champion at the prestigious Penn Relays in 2016.
     Paxton, who ran collegiately at Muskingum College before transferring to Ohio University, is a 14-time qualifier and six-time participant in the Boston Marathon - including each of the last two such races.
     Paxton resides in Chillicothe with his wife, Brianne, their two dogs (Angel and Pokey), and a cat (Zippy).
