Thank you for your interest in athletics at the University of Rio Grande. Our men's and women's programs offer 19 varsity and 3 club sports. To be recruited by our coaches, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go to the sport you are interested in and fill out the Recruiting Form. Please fill it out thoroughly, and a coach will contact you soon. If you are interested in multiple sports, please fill out the form for EACH sport. After you have finished filling out the forms, please continue with the steps below.

Step 2: Apply to the University of Rio Grande: Redstorm Application
Step 3: Fill out the FASFA. University Code: 003116
Step 4: Visit Campus.
Step 5: Fill out the PlayNAIA. The University of Rio Grande is a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) member for our varsity sports. As members of the NAIA, our athletes must go through the PlayNAIA eligibility center. Once you have your ECID number, our coaches need it to place you on the 'shortlist.' The shortlist indicates that an NAIA school is interested in recruiting you, so the NAIA needs to certify you. If you are interested in any of these sports, you must complete the PlayNAIA:
Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Track and Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling
Step 6: Fill out the RedStorm Scholarship. This is an opportunity to receive extra money from grants and donors for the academic scholarship.
Step 7: Once Accepted: Register for classes.

Step 2: Complete Application for Admission (Online 2023 International Application)
Step 3: Copy of Passport page (PHOTO ID PAGE WITH ALL DETAILS)
Step 4: Offical Scanned copies of ALL academic records, High School Grades, College Transcripts, ect (ALL TRANSFER STUDENTS MUST SEND OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS TO RIO FOR ACCEPTANCE/DEANS EVALUATION)
Step 5: Official Medical Records/Shot Records
Step 6: Complete the health services medical form
Step 7: Bank Letter/Affidavit of Support
Step 8: SAT OR ACT OR TOFEL Results

Step 11: Mail ALL ACADEMIC RECORDS to the NAIA Eligibility Center. ALL ORIGINALS MUST BE MAILED BY THE SCHOOL TO THE NAIA ELIGIBILITY CENTER.
PLEASE SEND ALL DOCUMENTS BETHANY DAVIES IN ADMISSIONS, BETHANYD@RIO.EDU WHEN SENDING ANY DOCUMENTS TO ADMISSIONS, PLEASE COPY YOUR RIO COACHES ON EVERY EMAIL. THIS ALLOWS US TO KEEP TRACK OF WHERE YOU ARE IN THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS.
ACCEPTANCE LETTERS WILL BE PROCESSED ONCE ALL ACADEMIC RECORDS/FINANCIALS (SCHOLARSHIP) HAVE BEEN APPROVED.
Step 12: Once Accepted: Register for classes.
