     MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - University of Rio Grande freshman Laura Hamm was named the River States Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Monday.
     Hamm, a freshman from South Point, Ohio, posting a time in the 800 meter run at the YSU Collegiate Invitational which topped the previous school-record of 2:20.64 set by Anne Marie Hynes. It also served as the ninth-best time in the NAIA this season.
     Hamm was also part of Rio's 4x400 relay team, whose time of 4:04.68 topped the previous school record by nearly five full seconds and earned a bronze medal at Youngstown State.
