DeBord scores two Top 10 finishes for RedStorm women

     MARION, Ind. - Paris DeBord fueled the efforts of the University of Rio Grande women's track and field team with a pair of top 10 outings in Saturday's IWU Midwest Classic at the Indiana Wesleyan Indoor Sports Complex.
     DeBord, a sophomore from Chillicothe, Ohio was ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.40 and took 10th place in the 60-meter dash with a mark of 8.07.
The event, which included 24 teams on the women's side, was not team scored.
     Four other individuals and one relay team representing the RedStorm recorded top 10 performances.
     The quartet of notables included junior Jayden Roach (Baltimore, OH), who was fifth in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:41.42; sophomore Amarissa Kerns (Lancaster, OH), who was sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:52.73; freshman Emily Duncan (Chesapeake, OH), who took sixth in the high jump with an effort of 1.55m (5'1"); and senior Mackenzie McCarthy (New Franklin, OH), who was eighth in the 5,000 after crossing in 19:27.92.
     Rio's 4x400 relay unit - comprised of sophomore Chloe Lovett (Washington Court House, OH), junior Kendra Grooms (West Union, OH), sophomore Olivia Sheward-Perdue (Jackson, OH) and Roach took fourth place in a time of 4:21.07.
     The RedStorm is scheduled to return to action on Feb. 17 at the River States Conference Championship in Logan, Ohio.
