
Rio women place 7th at Forest Hills Invite

RICHMOND, Ind. - The University of Rio Grande women's golf team posted a seventh-place finish in the Forest Hills Intercollegiate hosted by Indiana University East.
The two-day, 36-hole event wrapped up on Saturday at the Forest Hills Country Club.
The RedStorm finished with a team score of 226-over par 794.
St. Mary-of-the-Woods College won the team championship with a 110-over par 678, edging the host Red Wolves by one shot. Midway finished third at 687.
Wooster College's Ally Siewert took medalist honors individually, finishing at 17-over par 159.
The top individual outing for Rio Grande came from sophomore Maddi Meadows (Gallipolis, OH), who finished in 18th place at 36-over 178.
Also representing the RedStorm was senior Molly Fitzwater (Gallipolis, OH), who was among three players tied for 27th place at 49-over 191; freshman Katherine McGrath (Columbus, OH), who was 33rd at 58-over 200; freshman Kimmi Aubrey (Wellston, OH), who placed 36th at 83-over 225; and senior Avery Minton (Gallipolis, OH), who was 37th at 96-over 238.
Rio Grande returns to action April 27-29 in the season-ending River States Conference Championship at the Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, W.Va.
