RedStorm women finish 3rd at ALC Invite

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. - Maddi Meadows recorded a top 10 finish individually and led the University of Rio Grande women's golf team to a third-place showing in the Alice Lloyd College Fall Invite, which wrapped up its two-day run on Tuesday at the StoneCrest Golf Course.
Meadows, a freshman from Gallipolis, Ohio, followed a 10-over par 82 on Monday with an 8-over 80 on Tuesday to finish at 18-over 162.
As a team, the RedStorm finished at 148-over par 724 to finish in the upper half of the six-team event.
The University of Pikeville took the team crown by finishing at 30-over par 606, edging Emory & Henry University by four strokes.
Individually, Pikeville's Carly Crooks captured medalist honors in the 34-player field by finishing at 1-uner par 143.
Joining Meadows for Rio Grande were senior Bailey Meadows (Gallipolis, OH), who was 16th after carding a 36-hole total of 40-over par 184; junior Molly Fitzwater (Gallipolis, OH), who tied for 17th place at 43-over 187; junior Avery Minton (Gallipolis, OH), who took 20th place at 47-over par 191; freshman Julie Lemaster (Chillicothe, OH), who tied for 22nd place at 52-over 196; sophomore Chelsea Daubenspeck (Bucyrus, OH), who finished 28th at 75-over 219; freshman Mia Basim (Athens, OH), who was 29th at 76-over par 220; and sophomore Natalie Shriner (Thornville, OH), who placed 32nd at 114-over 258.
Rio Grande returns to action Sept. 25 and 26 as part of the River States Conference Fall Preview in Daniels, W.Va.
