
Rio women earn second straight runner-up finish

GREENSBURG, Pa. - The University of Rio Grande women's bowling team posted a second straight runner-up finish, taking second place in Sunday's Western PA Baker Shootout at Hillview Lanes.
The RedStorm finished with 4,607 pins toppled over the course of 28 baker games and just edged out the University of Pittsburgh-Bradsford (4,604).
St. Vincent College won the championship with 4,956 pins.
Rio Grande's roster for the event was comprised of senior Caity Moody (Xenia, OH), junior Hannah Halstead (Delaware, OH), freshman Lina Fernandez (Mechanicsburg, PA), freshman Melanie Liming (Georgetown, OH) and sophomore Payton Goodman (Cardington, OH).
The RedStorm is scheduled to return to action at the Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament No. 4, which is set for Saturday, Feb. 8, in Columbus, Ohio.
