Contingent of RedStorm men set for NAIA Championships

     RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Three individuals and one relay team will represent the University of Rio Grande in the 72nd Annual NAIA Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship, which is scheduled for Wednesday-Friday, at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
     Sophomore Tyler Jenkins (Barnesville, OH) will be part of the 10,000-meter run on Wednesday at 9:10 p.m. EDT.
     Jenkins has the 12th fastest qualifying mark at 30:40.73.
     Also on Wednesday, the RedStorm 4x800 relay team - comprised of junior Danuel Persinger (Bidwell, OH), freshman Kasy Science (Marietta, OH), freshman Ashton Beverly (Chillicothe, OH) and senior Kyle Lightner (Peebles, OH) - will run in the preliminary round at 6:50 p.m.
     Should the quartet qualify for the finals, that race would take place on Thursday, at 6:30 p.m.
     Rio Grande has the 23rd fastest qualifying time at 7:44.67.
     Jenkins and the freshman trio of Teddy Jencson (Baltimore, OH), JJ Larue (Chillicothe, OH) and Zach Whitley (Wheelersburg, OH) will serve as alternates.
     On Thursday, Whitley and graduate senior AJ Gruttadauro (Brockport, NY) will be among those in the 5,000-meter race walk final at 5:15 p.m.
     Gruttadauro qualified seventh with a time of 23:03.72, while Whitley's mark of 26:45.56 was 25th-best.
     Hudl TV will be the official live streaming home of the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championship streaming.
     It will broadcast as many events as possible. Due to the possibility of schedule overlap, there could be some events that are not fully streamed. The end of the current event will be prioritized over moving to the following event. Single-day passes can be purchased for $19.95, while a full tournament pass is available for $39.95.
