RedStorm earn at-large bid to NCR 7s nationals

     RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande is among 80 of the top collegiate programs from across the country who'll converge on the Maryland Soccerplex in search of a national championship across four divisions.
     The RedStorm earned an at-large selection into the Men's Premier Cup division of National Collegiate Rugby's Collegiate Rugby Championship, which is scheduled for April 25-26 just outside of Washington, D.C.
     NCR officials made the announcement on Saturday night.
     Head coach Brad Sandig's squad is seeded sixth in the Midwest bracket and will face American International College on Friday, at 10:40 a.m., on Field 12 of the complex.
     The winner will face the survivor of No. 2 seed Queen's and seventh-seeded Fordham on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the complex's Stadium venue.
     The winner on Friday's 1:30 p.m. contest will face the survivor of the other half of the Midwest bracket for a spot in the Cup's semifinal round on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Stadium venue.
     The remaining teams in the Midwest bracket include top-seeded Kutztown (Pa.), No. 8 seed Iona, fourth-seeded Siena and No. 5 seed Aquinas.
     The Rio-AIC loser will face the Queen's-Fordham loser on Friday at 2:10 p.m.
