RedStorm men close out fall schedule at Whistling Straits

     SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - The University of Rio Grande varsity men's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule on Tuesday afternoon by tying for 12th place in the Whistling Straits Championship.
     The 36-hole event took place at the Whistling Straits Golf Course.
     The RedStorm finished at 105-over par 681, tying the University of Dubuque.
     Keiser (Fla.) University and Davenport (Mich.) University tied for the team championship at 52-over par 628, while Aurora University finished in third place at 59-over 635.
     Brandon Bodis of Davenport took medalist honors in the 75-player field by carding a 7-over par total of 151.
     Rio Grande's top individual finish came from senior Jacob Calvin (Chillicothe, OH), who tied for 33rd place at 22-over par 166.
     Others representing the RedStorm included sophomore Rodrigo Portilla (Sevilla, Spain), who tied for 39th place at 23-over par 167; senior Whit Byrd (Pomeroy, OH), who tied for 54th place at 29-over par 173; junior Nicolas Gonzalez (Medellin, Columbia), who tied for 63rd place at 32-over par 176; and freshman Alfonso Baro Rosas (Cancun, Mexico), who was 66th at 34-over 178.
