Bio
Dr. Scott Street is entering his first full year as an athletic trainer with the University of Rio Grande, after being hired in February 2024. His clinical experience and knowledge will serve to enhance the healthcare of student-athletes representing the Red Storm on and off the field.
Dr. Street is a native of Chillicothe, Ohio, and completed his undergraduate work, majoring in Athletic Training and Spanish at Ohio Northern University in 2004. After graduation, he found employment as the Athletic Trainer for the Chillicothe Paints professional baseball team, working 3 summers from 2004-2006.
In the "off-season," Dr. Street worked to complete his master's degree at Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. After graduating in 2006, and completing that baseball season with the Paints, he moved to Pittsburgh, PA and served Sto-Rox High School through UPMC for 2 years.
In 2008, Dr. Street decided to pursue academia and started work at West Virginia Wesleyan College in a dual-role position where he was able to teach athletic training students and continue clinical work with the student-athletes enrolled at WVWC.
Dr. Street is a 2020 graduate of Moravian University's Doctor of Athletic Training program, an educational experience that led him to work more as a manual therapist, than with traditional treatment modalities, and get to the root of a problem rather than treating symptoms. He then earned his MBA from Moravian in 2021 and spent the year 2023 as a full-time educator at Moravian University. While he enjoyed teaching and instructing students in the classroom, he missed the field work and returned closer to home with the University of Rio Grande.
Dr. Street's research interests include the the cardiovascular adaptations of the athlete's heart, the FIFA 11+ program, and recovery supplements.
He currently resides in Chillicothe with his dog, Zoe.
